Foam with high weight per cubic foot, high-density foam has a strong cell structure, which makes the material highly durable and long-lasting. Dacron is a polyester batting that smooths the outer edges and fills in the fabric corners for a more custom finished look - definitely an aesthetic bonus! In cushions and other upholstery, batting is applied over the foam to prevent slippage. As your cushion fabric stretches, the Dacron will push and fill in against the fabric to prevent loose, worn areas from forming. Dacron will help reduce the wear on the fabric cover by reducing the friction between fabric and foam.
